Bring some fresh air into your practice on this 6-day yoga and hiking retreat in the lovely coastal town of Altea, an hour north of Alicante, Spain.

Yoga and hiking are the perfect blend of two great exercises making this retreat an unforgettable experience. The daily yoga sessions will lengthen muscles, soothe your senses and increase your flexibility & mobility whilst the hikes will boost cardio health and strengthen your lower body.

ACCOMMODATION
You’ll stay at a peaceful 300-year old olive farm in the Altea countryside, just 25 minutes walk to the sea. The hotel was recently transformed into a 4-star rural country house hotel with 22 spacious double ensuite rooms, a pool in the garden, small gym & sauna and a light filled yoga studio.

Here you can expect tranquility and fantastic views to the mountains and yet just be a few minutes away from the nearby very pretty town of Altea and its beach.

HIKES
Our first is an easy 13k guided route through quiet lanes and country tracks close to the hotel. You’ll pass Altean country houses, crops of oranges, lemons, olives, figs and avocados before heading towards the sea and back to the hotel via Altea old town.

The second is a 4-5 hour hike on the Puig Campana mountain – the second highest peak on the coast. But don’t worry, you’ll not be climbing to the top. Instead you’ll be walking around the mountain to enjoy the full 360-degree views across the neighbouring mountains and down to the sea.

There’s also a chance to do a 3rd self guided hike along the coast with maps provided by the team. All walks are of course optional.

THE YOGA
The twice daily yoga sessions are designed to complement the hikes combining the deep stretches of Hatha with the warming flow of Vinyasa and some deeply restorative and relaxing Yin Yoga.

Morning yoga sessions focus on simple flowing sequences to stretch muscles and open joints whilst synchronising your breath with movement so that your practice becomes like a calming moving meditation. Evening classes are more restorative where you will hold postures a little longer using the breath to move deeper within and reconnect with your inner peace.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
When not hiking or doing yoga, the team has a few other optional activities you can join– there’s a guided bike ride, Aerial Yoga Class, Spanish cookery workshop or, you can lay back and let the fantastic therapists pamper you with their soothing treatments and massages. activities are an extra cost.

5-nights in a double ensuite room, welcome chat with refreshments on arrival day, 7 x 90-minute morning and evening yoga session, meditation workshop, 13k ‘coast and country’ walk on your first morning, hike in the mountains with a picnic lunch, maps for a self-guided coastal walk, daily herbal teas & fresh fruits to help you slowly awaken prior to morning yoga, hearty buffet breakfasts after morning yoga, wholesome vegetarian evening suppers on all but 2 evenings, unlimited herbal teas throughout, well-being gifts to help you unwind and the services of an experienced retreat host who is on hand to ensure you don’t have to lift a finger (they’re quite strict about that!)
